Pathways Through Connecticut
- Item #: 29
Pathways Through Connecticut is the first statewide guide of its kind. Trails within 73 towns are depicted traversing over 200 miles of pathways, often on former railroad beds passing through some of the most beautiful parts of the state. We are at the beginning of a time here in Connecticut when residents will be able to follow multi-use trails to other towns in the region, to other regions in the state, and to neighboring states and beyond. Employment centers, shopping areas, bus and train stops, recreational and cultural attractions, and schools will be connected by these trails within existing neighborhoods, allowing foot and bicycle access for employees, customers and neighbors. The guide features trail descriptions having directions to access points, location maps, recommended activities, and notes on trail length. Readers will find the trail 'surface-type' info especially helpful since whether the trail surface is stone dust, paved, dirt or hard packed gravel may limit the type of activities you have planned. The Connecticut Department of Transportation also offers the full text of this book on their website. Color pictures throughout. 132 pages.
