Fishing Without Falling in Connecticut
A guide to finding places to fish for anglers who require easy access to lakes and streams
Connecticut is an angler’s wonderland. There are 5,920 miles of streams which flow thru rivers and into brooks, reservoirs and lakes, and generally appear in all 169 towns of Connecticut. To aid all in finding a nearby accessible fishing spot, the book is organized by County, then Town.
This revised 2010 edition has been created for those anglers who have left the rivers because they need easier access: the nervous elderly fly fisherman, injured vets, scared children, and others.
All eight counties in the state are represented, and the book includes:
-
Easy access from the parked car to an estuary with easy access for fishing
-
Easy wading, if wading is permissible
One page is dedicated to each tested location across the state, with color photos, descriptions, and directions. The CT DEP guide sites for the handicapped are not included.
Additionally, for each county, there is a chart of other (non-tested) locations for fishing, with directions and the type of fish caught. Campgrounds are included, as they may be stocked and are easy access for kids. There are over 800 locations (with a minimum of 70 per county) in the charts. This book, its locations, directions and photos, has been tested, edited, and approved by the Connecticut Trout Unlimited Council and all local CT Trout Unlimited Chapter Presidents.
